Karen Markovich was born in Washington state and grew up in Kitsap County. She graduated from Central Kitsap High School and pursued her nursing degree. She married the love of her life and they settled in Kitsap County and began raising her family in the very place where she grew up. While working at Harrison Hospital Emergency Department she developed a passion for critical thinking and knowledge. Working across several medical disciplines gaining valuable knowledge.
At age 31 Karen was diagnosed with breast cancer. With the support of her family, medical providers and friends she continued to work. When the treatment was completed she made the decision to pursue her Nurse Practitioner (NP) degree first from the University of Washington and then graduate degree from Pacific Lutheran University. She continued to work in the emergency department as a NP for several years, then transferred to Group Health working in Urgent Care and Family Practice.
Karen has always had an interest in empowering her patients and improving how they feel about themselves. Her passion for medical aesthetics developed twenty years ago while seeing a nurse practitioner herself. She feels that medical aesthetics improves ones quality of life and psychological wellbeing that supports empowerment. After practicing in medicine for 32 years she decided to retire and open Admire Medical Aesthetics.
Karen discovered she has an eye for facial symmetry, successfully mastering the art of achieving natural treatment outcomes for her patients. Her cosmetic injectable skill set has made her highly sought in the field of aesthetic rejuvenation.

Karen Markovich has been caring for patients for over 39 years, combining extensive medical expertise with a passion for helping people feel confident in their own skin. Born in Washington and raised in Kitsap County, Karen graduated from Central Kitsap High School before earning her nursing degree. She married the love of her life, and together they built their family in the very community where she grew up.
Her early career began in the Harrison Hospital Emergency Department, where she sharpened her critical thinking skills and developed a deep appreciation for continuous learning. Working across multiple medical disciplines, she gained the broad and valuable experience that would shape her future.
At just 31, Karen was diagnosed with breast cancer. With the steadfast support of her family, friends, and medical team, she continued to work throughout treatment. That experience inspired her to advance her education, ultimately earning her Nurse Practitioner degree from Pacific Lutheran University. She went on to work as an NP in the emergency department for several years before transitioning to Group Health, where she practiced in both Urgent Care and Family Practice.
Karen’s passion for medical aesthetics began more than 20 years ago, sparked by her own experiences as a patient. She saw how aesthetic care could boost confidence, enhance quality of life, and empower people from within. After more than three decades in traditional medicine, she retired from primary and urgent care to open Admire Medical Aesthetics—a place where artistry, science, and patient safety come together.
Continuing education and advanced training remain at the heart of Karen’s practice, as does an unwavering commitment to safety. She was the first in Kitsap County to introduce the use of aesthetic ultrasound to her practice, allowing for greater precision and safety in injectable treatments. Beyond aesthetics, she has a strong passion for overall wellness, disease prevention, and advocating for women’s health.
With a keen eye for facial symmetry, Karen is highly sought after for her expertise in cosmetic injectables and bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Her philosophy is simple: enhance, don’t alter—helping every patient look refreshed, confident, and authentically themselves.
